The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports claiming that the National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC) has dissolved the party’s State Executive Committee, describing the information as misleading, premature and capable of causing unnecessary confusion within the party.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the party said the Ondo State Executive Committee remains fully intact, duly constituted and operational, contrary to the speculation making the rounds in some quarters. The statement, jointly signed by the State Chairman, Barr. Dupe Aisida, and the State Secretary, Barr. Oluseye Olujimi, maintained that no official communication to that effect had been received by the state leadership through any constitutionally recognised channel of the party.
The party further stated that the purported dissolution did not emanate from any properly communicated source to the Ondo State leadership, stressing that no formal notification had been served on the State Executive Committee. According to the statement, the publication should be disregarded by members of the public, the media, and party faithful, as it was capable of undermining the peace and cohesion of the PDP in the state.
Reaffirming its commitment to unity, stability and the continued growth of the party, the Ondo PDP leadership urged members across the 18 local government areas and 203 wards of the state to remain calm, focused and steadfast in their loyalty to the party. It added that the state chapter remains united, strong and committed to providing credible leadership and a viable political alternative for the people of Ondo State.
