According to a statement signed by the Information Officer of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA), Mr. Sola Obagbemisoye, the government’s decision underscores its commitment to leveraging emerging technologies to promote sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for residents.
As part of the implementation process, SITA will host a two-day high-level policy summit bringing together experts from government agencies, technology firms, academia, and the private sector to deliberate on the integration of AI across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
The summit, which is expected to produce a clear policy framework for the adoption of AI in governance and economic planning, will hold at the ODIRS Hall, Igbatoro Road, Akure, on October 27 and 28, 2025, starting at 9 a.m. daily.
Obagbemisoye added that the event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on AI-driven solutions in agriculture, healthcare, education, security, and revenue generation.
He further noted that the government’s forward-looking approach aligns with global trends where Artificial Intelligence is being harnessed to transform public administration, boost productivity, and attract private investment.
