The third edition of the YemieFash Online News (YFON) Interactive Session and Dinner will hold tomorrow, Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Akure, the Ondo State capital. The high-profile event, known for its blend of civic engagement and social networking, will bring together political leaders, academics, traditional rulers, and civil society actors to deliberate on critical issues affecting Ondo State and Nigeria at large. Organised annually by the YFON platform, the event continues to grow in prestige and national relevance.
With this year’s theme titled "Strengthening Institutions; Securing Nations: The Pillar of Good Governance and Lasting Peace in Ondo State," the event promises robust discourse around the role of strong institutions in ensuring development, peace, and accountability.
Delivering the keynote address is renowned academic and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Prof. Adebisi Daramola, a professor of counseling psychology with decades of impactful teaching and leadership experience.
The panel session will feature an array of top voices including Hon. Justice Bolatito Ajibade, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Ondo State Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal, NSCDC Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye, the Olowo of Owo, His Imperial Majesty Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, Hon. Adejoro Adeogun, Engr. Ayotunde Bally, and Hon. Balarabe Akinwumi. Panelists will dissect issues across security, justice, gender, youth development, political reform, governance, and traditional leadership.
In the build-up to the event, the first leg took place on Friday, July 25, with a free medical outreach organized in partnership with the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs. The outreach, a novel inclusion in the YFON calendar, recorded over 300 participants who benefited from free health screenings, malaria treatment, drug distribution, and health insurance registration.
Chairman of the 2025 Planning Committee and former Ondo lawmaker, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, in a message to members of the YFON platform, called on all stakeholders to rise above political affiliations and personal differences to work for a better Ondo State.
“As leaders and members of this noble platform, we must commit ourselves to building a prosperous and thriving state,” Akinribido stated.
The YFON Interactive Session and Dinner continues to serve as a hub for intellectual engagement and networking, uniting individuals from across Nigeria to share ideas that inspire change and foster collaboration.
All invited guests are expected to arrive punctually. Further details are contained in the event flyer.
