...Asagunla, Atikase reaffirm group’s commitment to welfare, unity, and mobilisation for grassroots and APC’s continued Success
The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) on Wednesday held its first joint meeting of the State Executive, Local Government coordinators and selected stakeholders from across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.
The meeting was convened to commence the process of sensitisation for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and to ensure that people, even at the grassroots, continue to enjoy the transformative efforts of the present administration at both federal and state levels.
In his address, the AMG Director General, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, reiterated the group’s unwavering commitment to championing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and the progressive ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels of governance.
Being the first meeting after the victorious gubernatorial election in the state, Asagunla expressed deep appreciation to all AMG members for their relentless efforts in securing victory for the APC and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa at the polls. He charged members to remain steadfast and fully prepared as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu gears up to seek reelection in 2027.
The DG emphasised that AMG is more than a political organisation, it is a family bound by shared values and mutual respect. He assured members that their welfare and interests would always be a priority under the leadership of Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who, he said, is sincerely appreciative of their sacrifices and dedication. Asagunla called on members to sustain their efforts and continue to work for the growth and success of President Tinubu, the APC, and good governance across all levels.
In his words, the Ondo State Commissioner at the NDDC, Hon. Otito Atikase, commended AMG for its grassroots impact and urged members to demonstrate even greater commitment in every assignment entrusted to them. He cautioned against divisive narratives and the misconception that AMG operates in isolation within the party.
“People should stop causing unnecessary problems within the party by thinking that AMG, under the leadership of the Honourable Minister of Interior, is not in collaboration with other groups. We are working in synergy with everyone in the APC. We are solidly with the Governor, and our leader is committed to supporting the Governor and all stakeholders within the party. But let it be clear, we will not, under any circumstances, compromise our core values or the interests of our members.”
The meeting was well attended by a broad spectrum of AMG leadership and stakeholders. Discussions centred on key strategies for mobilisation ahead of 2027, enhancing synergy with other APC structures, and deepening the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.
Asagunla reiterated that AMG was established to mobilise people at the grassroots, foster unity within the APC, and ensure that the federal government’s developmental initiatives reach every community in Ondo State.
The session also featured deliberations on members’ welfare packages, with assurances that the leadership remains committed to supporting members as they continue to drive the group’s mission forward.
Hon. Atikase added that AMG’s strength lies in its ability to bring together diverse groups under one umbrella to achieve a common purpose: progressive governance and empowerment of the people.
The meeting ended with a renewed pledge from all attendees to redouble their efforts and work tirelessly towards ensuring the continued success of President Tinubu, Governor Aiyedatiwa, the APC, and the people of Ondo State.
