SWDC: Ondo Group Backs Nominees, Assures The People Of Quality Representation

A socioeconomic group, Ondo Natives, has thrown its weight behind the nomination and appointment of qualified indigenes of the state on the board of the newly created Southwest Development Commission(SWDC).

The convener of the group, Oluwagbenga Ajongbolo, while speaking to newsmen in Akure on Tuesday, appreciated Nigeria's president for bringing development closer to the people with the creation of the six regional development commissions. He also reiterated the confidence reposed in men and women nominated to oversee the affairs of the commission, especially the representatives from Ondo State.

According to Ajongbolo, the commission came at the right time. ‘I am happy. I'm sincerely happy. This is a great moment for us. We have been waiting for this for a long time. It's a testament to President Tinubu's years of preaching regional advancement through their own people. Our time has come, especially for us in Ondo State. The president has given us people with good heads on their shoulders.

‘Look at the nominated Director of Projects. Olusegun Olufehinti's private and public track records are enviable. He has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Akoko land, Ondo State and Nigeria in general. I am confident he won't disappoint us at the commission.’, he said.
Expressing gratitude to the executive governor of the state, HE Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for supporting and standing by the nominees, Ajongbolo could not hide his delight. According to him, the governor has provided strong leadership where it is needed. He also thanked other political leaders in Ondo for their hope and trust in the nominees and assured the people of viable, quality representation.
