The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has intensified its grassroots mobilization across Ondo State as the party’s nationwide digital membership registration exercise gathers momentum across the federation.
The exercise, which officially commenced on Monday, March 2, 2026, was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and is expected to run for three weeks across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. The initiative is designed to modernize the party’s membership database and ensure compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, while strengthening the party’s grassroots structure ahead of future political engagements.
In Ondo State, the process received a major boost following a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, where leaders from the 18 local government areas, members of the State Working Committee, and other key stakeholders gathered to deliberate on the effective implementation of the digital registration across the state.
Party leaders were directed to immediately mobilize members in their respective local governments and wards to ensure full participation in the exercise. Demonstrating strong grassroots coordination, leaders of the PDP in Ifedore Local Government Area convened a crucial mobilization meeting on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the party secretariat in Igbara-Oke, the headquarters of the local government.
The meeting was convened under the leadership of Honourable Engineer Clement Faboyede, who is the National Ex Officio of the part at the National Level and also a prominent leader of the party in the Local Government. This meeting was in collaboration with the Ondo State Secretary of the party, Barr Oluseye Olujimi and that of the Ifedore Local Government Party Chairman, Honourable Fasore Sunday.
The gathering attracted several influential party leaders and stakeholders who reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the PDP’s structure at the grassroots.
Among the leaders present are Alhaji Ajayi Fayehun, Barrister lawrence Fagbolagun, Hon, Oreoluwa Olowomeye, Honourable Ilesanmi Babalola, Hon Ajibola Rufus Eko, Hon Adejuwon, Hon Gbenga Eko, Local Government Executives, Ward Chairmen and party faithful from across the local government.
In his welcome address, Honourable Engineer Clemt Faboyede and Hon Fasore Sunday commended party leaders and members for their unwavering dedication to the growth of the PDP and emphasized the importance of the digital membership registration in repositioning the party for greater political success.
The meeting also featured the presentation of designated digital registration officers from all the wards in Ifedore Local Government, with two officers assigned to each ward to coordinate the electronic registration exercise at the grassroots level.
Addressing the gathering, the Ondo State Secretary of the PDP, Barrister Oluseye Olujimi, gave a comprehensive explanation of the modalities and procedures guiding the digital membership registration exercise.
He urged party members across the local government to actively participate in the process, noting that the initiative would provide the party with a credible and reliable membership database that reflects its true strength at the grassroots.
In a symbolic demonstration of leadership and commitment, the registration exercise commenced immediately at the meeting venue, with prominent leaders registering on the spot.
Among the first to be registered were Honourable Engineer Clement Faboyede, who completed his registration in Igbara-Oke Ward 1.
Following the successful demonstration, the registration officers were directed to return to their respective wards and immediately begin the digital registration of party members across the local government.
Party leaders at the meeting expressed strong optimism that the initiative would significantly deepen the PDP’s grassroots engagement and further consolidate its presence across Ondo State.
They also called on all loyal members and supporters of the party across the 10 wards in Ifedore Local Government to take advantage of the ongoing exercise and formally register as members of the PDP.
Observers within the party say the digital membership registration marks a major step toward modernizing the PDP’s internal structure and strengthening its grassroots political machinery nationwide.
With the registration now underway, leaders in Ifedore Local Government have pledged to ensure the successful completion of the exercise, while reaffirming their collective commitment to the unity, growth, and electoral strength of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State and across Nigeria.
