The Ondo Redemption Front has petitioned the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, demanding full disclosure on alleged payments of salaries and benefits to former political appointees under the current administration.
In a letter issued through A.O. Ajulo & Partners, the law firm of Dotun Ajulo, Secretary of the group, the Freedom of Information Act (2011) was invoked to request detailed records of all payments made to former political appointees since the inception of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
Ajulo expressed concern that some of the alleged beneficiaries were individuals whose appointments or selections had been declared invalid by the courts, yet were still reportedly receiving public funds.
The letter specifically sought the names of beneficiaries, the offices they occupied, the legal basis for their entitlements, as well as the amounts, dates, and payment heads under which such disbursements were made.
“This request is made in good faith, in the public interest, and in exercise of my right to access information concerning public records and expenditures of government, as guaranteed under the Freedom of Information Act." The petition stated.
The group stated that transparency and accountability in the management of government funds remain key issues in Ondo State’s governance.
